Meadow Lodge at Seawardstone

A tranquil cabin for two set in the beautiful Devon countryside surrounded by gardens with magnificent views.

Our cabin is utterly peaceful and secluded, approached down a shared drive, it offers a first-class base for couples wanting to explore Devon. It is set in nine acres of gardens, meadows and mature trees. The open-plan living space has a light and airy feel thanks to the large French doors and windows, creating a refreshing area for cooking and unwinding each evening.

Wildlife regularly makes an appearance and owls can be heard at night in the trees, on a clear night, the stars are truly spectacular as we have very little background light. The lodge is a haven, providing a perfect escape, with the sea being only a few miles away directly in front of the lodge.

We also offer seasonal short break offers, please see our special offers page

The highlight for us was watching the sun rise over the horizon from bed. Mark and Julia are fabulous hosts too and provide some wonderful treats on arrival 🍾 Book it, you won’t be disappointed.

“I enjoyed a wonderful long weekend at Meadow Lodge. It’s warm, cosy, extremely comfortable and well equipped – everything has been thought of! The location is perfect for exploring the South Hams. It’s tranquil, with magical views and surrounded by wildlife. Highly recommended.”

Karen, Guildford | Nov 2023

“A beautiful property in a gorgeous location. Mark the host was great, after learning we were delayed due to problems on the route down due to flooding, he had switched on lights and heating and was waiting for us to help us unload and move in. The property is a wonderful place to chill and relax, which we did with everything to hand. The pheasants visited daily, and whilst we had rain every day we left relaxed”

Sue, St Austel | Nov 2023

“We had originally planned to stay in July but we’re prevented by family illness. Mark and Julia were extremely helpful in allowing us to postpone our visit. Everything about the holiday was perfect, the accommodation, the location, the weather, and especially the friendly hosts. 5 stars!”

David, Ramsbottom | Oct 2023

“Meadow Lodge is the perfect retreat, with it’s tranquil and stunning surroundings. It’s set in a great location, with lots to see and do within a short distance. We had everything we needed, the lodge is well equipped & very comfortable. There is plenty of outdoor seating with lots of wildlife and nature to enjoy in all it’s glory. Mark and Julia were wonderful hosts, very attentive but not intrusive… a lovely couple! We shall certainly be back and have recommended to friends and family.”

“Beautiful little hideaway nestling amidst abundant wildlife. A comfortable, tasteful snug, generously equipped with all essentials and more. Perfect place for anyone wanting to explore or just relax amidst birdsong and bunnies. Highly recommend.”

Rachel, August 2024

“Such a tranquil place to stay. The cottage is very clean and comfortable with a modern look. Excellent luxury bathroom for such a small dwelling. You are surrounded by woodlands with views across fields to the coast. Wonderful wildlife who live in the quietest haven are everywhere and it is a joy to just sit on the expansive patio and watch them. When you do venture out beautiful Devon awaits you with plenty of interesting places to visit and numerous restaurants and pubs of a very high standard. The hosts are lovely being helpful but not intrusive.”

Heather, July 2024

“Excellent holiday get-away for 2. Meadow Lodge is located down a long drive and is very private. Surrounded by lovely gardens and wildlife. Owners on-hand and friendly, but not intrusive. Would love to go back.”

Adrian, July 2024

“This is a fantastic property – really peaceful and well equipped – out in the countryside but close enough to towns and attractions- so nice to sit on the deck and watch the wildlife and sunsets.”

Steven, May 2024

“Relaxing and restful place, the silence is wonderful as the only sounds are from the wildlife. If you are lucky you will see deer in the garden and pheasants are always present. Cosy and comfortable lodge in a remote location with far-reaching country views.”
